Hey there Cape Cod women! In just six days -- this Thursday, July 19 -- we invite you to join us in Centerville, MA to celebrate the opening of our newest Speaker Sisterhood club. Led by the incredible Katri Mullaly (@sisukatdesigns), the official launch party takes place on July 19th from 6:30-8:30 pm at Building Blocks Child Care Center, 546 Phinneys Lane, Centerville, MA 02632. Regular meetings will be held on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 6:30-8:30 pm. What’s Speaker Sisterhood all about? For starters, it’s a network of speaking clubs for women who seek public speaking skills, the confidence to share their voice, and a strong, supportive circle of friends to help them do it. We’re so excited about our newest Speaker Sisterhood club because it’s unlike any other. We partnered with @GirlsIncHolyoke, MA to create a pilot program geared for girls age nine to 12. Thirteen girls are participating the program, which started June 27 and includes a two-hour meeting held every other week until August 22. At this crucial age girls are learning about stereotyped gender roles in the media, connecting body image with self-esteem and becoming self-conscious. This program aims to increase their comfort and confidence. Like every other Speaker Sisterhood club, this one provides its members with a safe place to find their voice, develop public speaking skills and use them as a tool for self-discovery.
